Fourteenth doctor’s appointment…

I’ve been up for the past two nights and just not feeling well at all. I’ve been having horrible cramping and feeling like I have to constantly pee. When I go to pee it hurts really bad and next to nothing comes out. It is just little tiny dribbles! It got so bad today that I called the doctor to see if maybe I have a UTI or bladder infection. They switched my appointment from Friday morning to Thursday morning so that the doctor can check me out to make sure that everything is ok. By the end of the day it hurt so bad when I tried to pee I seriously wanted to cry. I would just sit on the toilet and make these horrible moaning noises with tears in my eyes. John came into the bathroom and saw what was going on and went out to call the doctors office again. He had me get on the phone with the nurse and I told her how bad it was getting. She told me to come right over and they would have Dr. D check me to see if everything was ok and that they would do a piss test to make sure there wasn’t anything going on there either. So I got dressed and John and I were on our way to the doctors office.

You would think that a girl that is 9 months pregnant and only two days from her due date would be taken in right away or close to it because it’s an emergency, right??? Wrong! We sat there for two hours waiting to see the doctor. I kept getting these horrible pains and must have gotten up to use the bathroom 6 or 7 times. I told John that it was cruel and unusual punishment and I couldn’t believe that they made me wait so long. I should have been seen before all of the chicks that were just there for their yearly visit! Anyway, we finally went back to see the doctor and we talked to her for a while about everything that has been going on the past couple of days with the cramps, pains, and the problem with peeing. She said the urine test came back fine so I have nothing to worry about with that and then did an internal exam on me. She said that she was shocked because now I’m 2 cm dilated and my cervix is very soft and completely thinned out so what I was experiencing was probably the early stages of labor. This is the same doctor that wanted to schedule me for a c-section before my due date because she said I wasn’t progressing enough. I guess everything John and I have been doing was working and it was going to pay off. So she sent us on our way and said if my water broke or if the pains and cramps got worse or unbearable to go right to the hospital. So we don’t have to schedule the c-section and it looks like I may just be able to deliver this baby on my own :-)
